Typographical Chromatopsia
Since September, I had been collecting letterforms from the physical world, to create a set of “wild type.” They were collected from images on the internet, books, and items in the house.
To present these letterforms in a cohesive and conceptual manner, I took inspiration from the Ishihara plates, which are used to test for Protanopia and Deuteranopia (red-green colorblindness). I attempted to expand upon the possibilities of this system, and created plates to test for Tritanopia (blue-yellow colorblindness) and Monochromacy (complete visual agnosia).

After extensive, research, I transformed my found letterforms into these colorful combinations, taking care to adapt each plate to match the type of colorblindness it was testing.
